Shocking statistics from the Census of India, 2011 shows that while 89% of children with learning disabilities are enrolled in primary school, only 8.5% actually go to secondary school and only 2.3% of the children reach higher secondary.

Special Education

Special education is immensely important to children with learning disabilities, because it gives them the opportunity to get quality education in line with their unique needs and gain a high level of independence. It’s not a “one size fits all” approach — special education must be tailored to meet the needs of individual children.

Because of various environmental, cultural, social and economic constraints these children are less likely to be able to go to school than other children. Many of them are not diagnosed or diagnosed very late. Their future job prospects are also low, as they are unable to work and therefore denied the chance to lead an independent life.

How Adhyan Supports

A learning disability cannot be cured or fixed; it is a lifelong challenge. However, at Adhyan we believe that with appropriate treatment and interventions, people with learning disabilities can achieve success. With the right resources, institutes and teachers, a child with these challenges can also learn well.

We support learning disabilities like ADD, ADHD, Specific Learning Disabilities, Sensory Processing issues and dyslexia. We provide sponsorships in education, special education, neuroplasticity-based therapies, cognitive and rehabilitative programs, sensory processing disorders, assessment tools  and developmental profiles that aid in
