Adhyan is a non-profit trust that works to support vulnerable women and children. We aspire to invest in and give hope to families, women and children in need by equipping them with the skills, tools and the mindset to overcome difficulties and chart their own destinies as productive members of society. At Adhyan we know that by enabling women to be their own changemakers, we can change the world. As women rise, so do their children, families, and communities. It is this salient belief that motivates our purpose.
Adhyan was founded by Priya Joseph. Our areas of focus are derived from her own life experiences. What started as a small campaign to pay it forward is now growing, as it transforms lives of women and children across India.
"Adhyan stands for one who is rising. As women rise, so do our children, our homes, and our communities.” - Priya Joseph, Founder
Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) are a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.
At Adhyan, we work towards investing in women and children to give them significant and long-lasting benefits in quality of life, productivity, health, economic and social well-being.

Areas Of Work
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
Women play a primary role in care giving in our society, and yet are the most disenfranchised. We equip women with the skills and conviction that they need to rise out of the most challenging circumstances.
DIALYSIS
Kidney disease has a drastic effect on the lives of patients and their families that is often underestimated. Dialysis offers a solution to improve the quality of life and if caught early, saves the patient and the lives of their family.
CONGENITAL HEART DEFECT
Only a small percentage of the children diagnosed with CHD have access to timely and sophisticated cardiac treatment; mostly in the private sector and the facilities are not geographically well-distributed.
INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
Medical crises can break the backbone of families. The high cost of medical care is hard to bear for underprivileged as well as middle-class families, exhausting savings, leaving nothing for other critical needs.
SPECIAL EDUCATION
Special education is immensely important to children with learning disabilities, because it gives them the opportunity to get quality education in line with their unique needs and gain a high level of independence.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
Daily life can be a huge challenge for people, affected by earthquakes, floods, accidents, poverty and/or and health crises leading to various physical and mental health issues; wreaking havoc on normal everyday living.

Our Funding Philosophy
2020 and 2021 have been years of global crisis. We’ve seen how deeply entrenched power imbalances in our society have drastic consequences for the most vulnerable in challenging times.
With the difficulties faced by nonprofits in mind, Adhyan chooses to adopt a trust-based model of philanthropy. We fund organizations at every level of their work from capacity-building and operational support to leadership and learning.
